In a recent interview at Comic-Con 2010, Cliff Bleszinski gave us a bit of an incite as to where Gears Of War 3 is heading.

Marcus and friends are on a Raven’s Nest, it’s kind of like a flotilla, the water was basically the safest place for them to be. A new threat known as the Lambert has arisen; Locust’s infected with imulsion, they rapidly mutate. Over the course of the game, Marcus gets a message from his dad who he believed was dead; the idea being if he can save his dad he can save the world.

The most highly anticipated addition to Gears 3, beast mode.

Cliff Bleszinski: “People are like yeah, so it’s beast mode, it’s reverse horde? And your like.. at the start maybe, but now it’s complete class based you have a Kantas who can heal, you have a suicide bomber ticker which is almost like the stealth strategy type of gameplay, the Beserker’s kinda blind but she’s also like a tank, you have all these different classes that also supplement one another and there’s also a lot of depth in it.”

Rod Fergusson: “What’s really cool about beast mode, is it’s really a class based system, whereas normally in our co-op stuff you’re dealing with just humans where the only different ability they have is what gun they have. But in beast mode, every creature has a different ability.” When Rod was asked about his favourite creature, he has this to say. “It’s all ticker, all the time. He’s the cheekiest, easiest creature to play, but you’ve got to play yourself up to kill things. Every third person game has to have cute butt move in and ticker does that for us.”

In the third instalment of Gears, you’ll also be allowed to bring two more friends along for the campaign.

“One of the big things for us now is four player co-op, we’ve been meaning to do that for a while, now we’re really happy because it turned out to be really challenging to do a story based game with four player co-op.”

Gears of War 3 Fan Made Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming final instalment of the Gears Of War video game was released a few days ago, the fan made trailer entitled “What Have I Become?” created by The Duo Group Utilising the Hurt sung by Johnny Cash (NIN cover). So the question we now ponder is, can a group of fans really make something to the quality of Epic Games? Well if you weren’t much of a fan of the “Ashes to Ashes” Gears Of War 3 trailer – this fan made effort may please you a little more.

Once again following what we have previously seen, the COG clan attempting to defy the odds and fight off a closing Locust Horde, along with the depressing, haunting feel from the music used. A brilliant effort and contribution to the game by The Duo Group and others involved, I’d recommend the EPIC team get these guys on board!

Being a Carmine in Gears Of War can be, well, let’s just say ‘tough’. Both Anthony and Benjamin would tell you so themselves, but unfortunately; they can’t. The public release of Gears of War 3 is hurriedly drawing near; and to be perfectly honest with you, the latest ‘Clayton Carmine’ would be shaking in his boots right about now. From July 29 onwards, Gears fans nationwide will be given the chance to establish Carmine’s fate as well as do some good in supporting the Child’s Play Charity. What’s all this about? Read on and you’ll find out very soon!

Clay Carmine’s destiny lies in your hands in – for the first time in the video game’s history, Epic Games and Microsoft are giving you, the gamer, the opportunity to air your opinion in Gears Of War 3. By obtaining the avatar gear on Xbox LIVE Marketplace; you will be able to contribute your views on Carmine’s fate – all earnings will go directly to the Child’s Play Charity.

Clayton Carmine will be made known in Gears Of War 3, the final chapter of the booming video game franchise. Just like brothers Benjamin and Anthony; he will be introduced to a dangerous situation where ‘curtains out’ is very possible. However, unlike what we have seen in the past two games, you as a gamer will be able to decide his fate by purchasing the ($20) Gears 3 avatar gear via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. July 29th the release of two avatar tops will be made available for purchase. The shirts are entitled “Save Carmine” and the other “Carmine Must Die.”

As previously mentioned, all proceeds will be donated to the Child’s Play Charity. The network now manages more than 50 hospitals nation wide, they raise money willingly in hope that they can help improve the lives of children. Child’s Play raises millions and in response sick children are provided with some entertainment from video games and consoles.

The Gears Of War finale to the successful video game will be released April 5, 2011 – exclusive to Xbox 360.

Gears of War 3 Beast Mode

A new addition to Gears Of War 3 was announced by Cliff Bleszinski at Microsoft’s E3 conference, entitled ‘Beast Mode’. Basically, you’ll play as a locust and fight your way through oncoming computer controlled human fighters. Attached are their Lancers, auto-turrets as well as the Hammer of Dawn. Unsurprisingly, each new line of humans becomes harder to defeat, due to their tactical set-ups and improved assault weapons; as well as the clock forcing it’s way done to zero backdrop. It’s been described as a brilliant add-on to the title.

Beast mode runs on a virtual currency method, you earn points for helping out teammates and the obvious – destroying the enemy. In return, you’re giving more choices in terms of which Locust type you play as. Starting out you can only choose between Tickers and Wretches, as more more points are accumulated your options broaden and you are presented with characters such as Grenadiers and Berserkers.

One map you are allowed to play on during the game is ‘Mercy’, it displays a lot of narrow aisles and jagged wire, which just so happen to slow down your onslaught. A middle sized map, which allowed a few advantage points to the CPU’s human players such as the staircase which led to an overview battlefield grounds and allowed direct fire. Strategy and tactics play a part in this mode, an example is this map.

A fellow player is able to spawn into another creature and distract a group of humans leaving you enough time to take advantage and finish them unknowingly. Team work may not be all that new to the Gears Of War chain, however the deviation of different maps desires some creativity on your part. It’s great knowing you can have one player distract the soldiers and sneak up from behind unseen, in order to end a group of enemies.

The demo included four levels of human onslaught, we still aren’t sure how long the actual mode will last; as well as any other secret additions are to be included as you battle with your Locust Horde.

The Gears Of War 3 trailer has finally been released much to the delight of Gears fans nationwide, you can check out the trailer below!

Having first been shown on US tv show, ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’, the trailer entitled “Ashes to Ashes”, exposes Marcus Fenix, Delta Squad leader and his accomplice Dom Santiago fighting off a horde of repulsive Locusts in a baron, dark combat zone.

Dom busts through what can only be described as ash sculptures – symbolic of ‘people frozen in time’ as he tries to desperately escape the Locust horde.

Dom falls to the ground and when all hope seems lost, Marcus jumps to his aid and defends him.

The song called “Heron Blue” by Sun Kil Moon, from the album “April” is played throughout the action packed trailer.

Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski revealed the release date of April 8 2011.

The Locust species we see in the trailer are described as “Lambert” by Bleszinski “[they are] crazy tentacle monsters that can mutate while you’re fighting them”.

Just another bonus developers have added to Gears Of War 3 is the double shotgun. As well as the hugely anticipated addition of female warriors for the first time in the Game’s history.

Something that had been requested numerous times, Bleszinski made clear.
